Digital Scanning for Dental Implants

Digital Scanning for Dental Implants

At the Oral Facial & Implant Centre we educate our patients and referring Dentists on the benefits of the latest digital technology and customised patient specific solutions.

The technology surrounding dental implants is always changing at a rapid pace with different companies bringing new products to the market.

Dr John Webster brings expertise in prosthetic digital planning, implant surfaces and restorative solutions to Toowoomba and the Darling Downs.

3D Custom Guided Surgery

The latest evidence suggests the use of customised surgical guides at the time of dental implant placement surgery increases the accuracy in the exact, ideal position of the dental implant.

Angulations and depth of dental implant placement are critical to achieving the optimum functional and cosmetic goals of the treatment. In addition, accurate placement can avoid complications such as damage to adjacent teeth and critical anatomy such as nerves and blood vessels.

Not all cases require a surgical guide and they do add a small cost to the overall treatment however Dr John Webster will always speak with you and discuss the most accurate treatment possible to give you long lasting successful results.

Digital Oral Scanning

Dr John Webster uses the latest optical digital scanners to obtain an accurate 3D picture of your unique dentition and clinical problems. With fast, accurate and easy digital impression capture, you benefit from improved treatment planning and a streamlined workflow. You will see your image loaded into the planning software and your oral scan will be mapped to your CT scan.

This technology enables accurate and timely planning and often by the end of your initial consultation you will know what is achievable and have a thorough understanding of your detailed treatment plan. Digital oral scanning allows you to achieve your function and smile back as fast as possible.

Low Dose CT Scanning

At the Oral Facial & Implant Centre a low dose Cone Beam CT Scan will be arranged to give an accurate 3D view of the available quantity and quality of bone in your upper and lower jaws to identify where dental implants can be safely placed. This technology uses a low dose of radiation and can visualise adjacent critical anatomy in seconds.

The results of your scan will be discussed with you at your initial consultation and used in combination with your digital oral scan to accurately plan your implant placement.
